Advanced Model Rocketry WeekendTake your pick between two different weekend programs. In The Eggstreme Lofting Challenge you'll learn about engine sizes, power, and how to determine just how high your rocket flies, but there's a twist. You'll build a model rocket that will loft a raw egg. The challenge is who can loft their egg the highest, and get it back - in one piece. Find out who your troop's biggest yokester is. Click here for more info and PHOTOS... OR Go to our Flight Design School and learn how to really build a model rocket well so that you get the most out of every flight. You'll not only learn some really neat building and flight tips, but the group will practice what we call Altered States. We'll take a standard rocket and seriously alter the kit to make it do different things - some stuff you may never have dreamed of - and see what the results are. A great way to learn and have a wild time. Click here for more info and PHOTOS... Support provided:Supported at Camp Acahela. We will provide the tools and launching equipment needed for projects. We can provide a qualified and approved Instructor who will meet with your boys. This activity is planned to basically fill a full weekend at Acahela. Class size: Up to 25 works well, though larger groups can be accommodated. Advance notice needed: Call at least four to five weeks in advance for an appointment.
