Camping at Goose Pond Scout Reservation

Celebrating 87 Years of Service to Scouting 1920-2007
Year-round Opportunities for Camping
Multiply two top-notch Scout Camps with a host of nearby
attractions and activities. Then multiply that by the number
of things you can do or see at Acahela or Goose Pond and
multiply that by the four seasons and you will end up with
more outdoor adventures than your unit will ever have a chance
to do! With so many options and the wide variety of camp
sites, trails, activities, and lodges, you would have to work
really hard at ever getting bored of our camps. And our
dedicated staff of professionals and volunteers are working
constantly on improving every aspect of Acahela and
Goose Pond. Most of all, you will find a spirit in our camps
that we are very proud of - our lands are alive with spirit -
Scout Spirit - of all those who went before us and what makes
the Scouting program great!

Open Camping
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Council is blessed with two
wonderful camps that together provide Scouts with nearly 800
acres of wilderness.
Goose Pond Scout Reservation is renowned for its Summer
Resident Boy Scout program and is one of the best examples of
a classic Scout Camp anywhere. Located near Hamlin, PA
and Lake Wallenpaupack, Goose Pond is a 200-plus acre glacial
lake surrounded by hillsides of forests rich in
evergreens, hardwoods, and other fauna. In addition to the
Pond's traditional setting your find one of the region's best
C.O.P.E. courses, an unbelievable campfire circle, and more
challenges for any type of Scout unit. Staying at the Pond
places you close to many of the sites on the northern end of
the Pocono Plateau, Scranton, and the tri-state region.
